Hand Up Project
During Covid, the large sculpture community in Zimbabwe was devastated financially, and were struggling to pay school fees and put food on the table.
In partnership with Kalahari Resorts, we created a theme, “Love” and asked the sculptors to contribute any piece of art, in return for $200.
The results were phenomenal. Art was created and exchanged, and then shipped to Texas for an auction, where the funds raised were then used to build a computer room and upskill the community at Chitungwiza Art village in Zimbabwe, and drill boreholes.
Since then, there have been three iterations of this project, creating a virtuous circle of value for all stakeholders.
